For anyone who is looking for FPGA that are PCIe Gen3 compliant, Altera's 28nm Stratix V FPGA are your best option. Stratix V and PCIe Gen3 can work seamlessly together, making it easier to develop high performance hardware. Other families that are PCIe compliant include Cyclone V and Arria V which can work with Gen1 and Gen2 respectfully.

Altera's direct memory access (DMA) allows Stratix V customers to seamlessly integrate and design PCIe Gen3 solutions. The Altera FPGA are able to support applications that require high bandwith, system integration, and flexibility, all at a reduced cost with lower total power consumption.

Altera Stratix V FPGA include at most four hard PCIe Gen3x8 intellectual property (IP) blocks. The blocks support x1, x2, x4, and x8 lane configurations, providing transfer rates up to 8-Gbps per lane and sustaining two times higher thoroughput by using the Gen3 x8 lanes compared to the Gen2 x8 version.

Altera FPGA are available through EarthTron. Compared to other traditional distributors, we do not have any minimum buys in place, meaning you can save more than 50% off Stratix V list prices. The prices are too low to list here - click here to browse through our current inventory. Even if the part is not listed, send us a RFQ, and we'll reply within 2-3 business days.
