Manufactuerer: Broadcom

Description: Dual 100G Gearbox Physical Layer Transceiver (PHY)

Quantity: 50-100 Pieces

Broadcom claims that the BCM82792 is the industry's highest performance, lowest power multi-rate 100GbE gearbox physical layer transceiver (PHY). The device offers dual 100Gbps ports on a single gearbox chip, increasing the density while reducing power consumption (2W per port).

The BCM82792 can to multiplex and demultiplex data across eight 25Gbps channels to (or from) twenty 10Gbps channels. Suiting high-bandwidth networks, the PHY is configurable to support eight bi-directional lanes at 10Gbps for 10 or 40GbE pass-through applications. Routing constraints are eased with high performance 25/10G IO providing longer physical links.
